Biddeford, Maine Eats

The once sleepy old textile mill town is being revitalized into a hub of culinary delight as the city writes its next chapter! Biddeford is a southern Maine town you definitely want to add to your list to check out! The food scene in Biddo is thriving and more and more note-worthy new places continue to pop up here!

Our Newest Favorites:

Fish and Whistle (@fishandwhistlemaine)

Fishes is Delicious! From James Bear nominee Kate Fisher-Hamm and were husband, this Main Street gem in the heart of Biddeford will leave you wanting more. The Main-caught seafood and delicious soft serve ice cream are just SO darn good. We love grabbing an order of fish and chips.

Sacred Profane (@sacredprofanebrewing)

Brewing both pale and dark lagers, this gorgeous new spot is the perfect place to meet up with friends for a good time. With pours and plates available, their poutine is a must order too. Order a “foam” too for a fun new experience.

Our “Go-To” Biddeford Spots

Dizzy Birds Rotisserie

Dizzy Birds does comfort food right! We absolutely love their organic rotisserie chicken and scratch made sides. We highly recommend the kale salad, maple glazed carrots and cole slaw sides and definitely don’t forget the corn bread! Their ribs are also not to be missed when looking to switch up your chicken order. Pro Tip - Order the family meal to-go complete with your choice of meat, 3 sides + order 1/2 corn bread and 1/2 dinner rolls for the perfect combo!

Organic Rotisserie Chicken with all the scratch made sides, to-go edition! Grab the family meal that comes with your choice of meat, 3 sides and cornbread/dinner rolls for the perfect to-go option.

Time and Tide Coffee

We are always in search of good coffee beans to brew pour over style at home in our Chemex. The Commodore blend at Time and Tide ranks as one of our all time favorites! Check out this cute coffee shop for fresh beans, oat milk lattes and small bites like avocado toast made with Night Moves Bread. Remember to try their famous pistachio cream latte!!

Palace Diner

This iconic old rail car turned diner serves up classic fare that is unforgettable. Located on a one way street in downtown Biddeford between neighboring brick buildings, the bold red and yellow design on the front of the rail car stands out! Our favorites include the fried chicken sandwich, rueben and burger!!

Lorne

We absolutely love the idea of a local neighborhood wine shop and Lorne delivers in all the right ways. The friendly staff are always available to give their recommendation from the amazing selection of sustainable wines. Beyond serving as the neighborhood wine shop, Lorne is also a bar pouring wines by the glass. It’s a wonderful cozy spot to grab a glass of your favorite. We are also big fans of their monthly wine club subscription where you can choose either 2 or 4 bottles/month. Pro Tip - grab a loyalty card on your first purchase to eventually earn a free bottle!

Night Moves Bread

Weekly Saturday morning pickups in 2020 during the pandemic from Night Moves were a highlight to our week and the tradition has stuck ever since. The breads and cookies are top notch. Order online in advance each week for Saturday pick-up or walk up to the window on Saturday mornings.

George’s

Have you heard of a Ham Italian? Its a Maine tradition that we love. Split top roll, deli ham, american cheese and thinly sliced white onions, green peppers, tomatoes, pickles and olives topped with salt, pepper and oil. You can find Italians at convenience stores and sub shops around Maine, but our favorite will always be from George’s in Biddeford. Now under new ownership, this tried and true locals hidden gem keeps making the same amazing sandwich year after year.
