Our Visit to the Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands (U.S.V.I) are the perfect late winter escape from the still chilly Northeast. We packed our bags for an easy and quick travel experience down to the St. Thomas to escape the final weeks of Mud Season in Maine.

For this trip, we stayed on St. Thomas and took a few day trips over to St. John via the ferry from Red Hook (St. Thomas) to Cruz Bay (St. John). We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman’s Cove and can’t wait to return! Check out our trip recap reel on IG here.

St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

  • Lanai at Lime Tree Beach (@lanai_usvi) - This was our favorite spot for casual waterfront dining and happy hour. Be sure to get the poke bowl!

  • Pesce Italian in Red Hook (@pesceitalianvi) - Classic Italian fare with a daily happy hour!

  • The Easterly in Red Hook (@easterlystthomas) - Craft cocktails and small plates in the most beautiful open air space. Be sure to get the wood fired avocado!

St. John, U.S.V.I.

  • The Rum Hut in Cruz Bay (@rumhutstjohn) - Beachside bites and drinks, perfect for late night too right by the ferry.

  • Banana Deck in Cruz Bay - Fun lunch/bar spot for casual fare including sandwiches and burgers.

  • LIME OUT: FLOATING TACO and COCKTAIL BAR (@limeoutvi) - THIS IS A MUST DO!! Only accessible by boat, we loved swimming up to the bar for an unforgettable lunch!

    • We chartered a boat through Voodoo Charters and highly recommend the experience! It was great to be on the water for the day and get out to Lime Out!
