Why Bermuda?

Bermuda is a quick flight from the east coast, lying off the coast of the Carolinas in the northern Atlantic Ocean. Easy nonstop flights from both NYC and Boston make visiting from the northeast very easy! Bermuda certainly packs all the fun and beauty. We loved exploring this tiny island and the turquoise waters have us dreaming of returning soon.

Bermuda has strong British ties and an economy rooted in the financial industry, showcasing a very proper flair. The official language is English and while the island does have its own currency, the conversion rate is 1:1 with the $US dollar.

Where to stay?

We stayed at the beautiful St. Regis, Bermuda that newly opened in May 2021. The resort sits right next to Fort. St. Catherine in St. George’s and offers a beautiful sandy beach for guests to enjoy. Many of the resorts in Bermuda don’t actually have a sand beach so this was a nice perk.

We also checked out The Loren Hotel and highly recommend this spot as well for a trendy yet sophisticated vibe.

What to Eat?

Bermuda imports mostly everything on the island, making things very expensive. Given the small size of the island, few things are also grown there.

Here were a few of our favorite spots:

  • Grab lunch & cocktails at The Pink Beach Club at The Loren Hotel - so fun and so vibey!

  • Dinner at BLT Steakhouse at The St. Regis, Bermuda - every meal starts with complimentary popovers!

  • Pasta at Rustico in Flatts Village - get the carbonara and a glass of red

  • Calamari and antipasti at La Trattoria in downtown Hamilton

  • Cocktails at 1609 at the Hamilton Princess Bermuda - drink all the Dark n Stormy’s made with Bermuda’s Goslings Rum

Other spots we did not make it to, but heard great things about include the Swizzle Inn, The Village Pantry, and Tom Moore’s Tavern.

What To Do?

  • Shopping in Downtown Hamilton - check out Tabs for authentic Bermuda shorts!

  • Rent a moped/scooter and explore the island. We recommend a 2 seater so you can ride together. Many of the rental companies will drop off right at your hotel.

  • Explore Fort. St. Catherine - beautiful ocean views and a great little museum for $7 admission

  • Visit Lili Bermuda Perfumery in St. George’s
